The 2024 MS Bike Tour is set to roll through New York City this Sunday, Oct. 20, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., bringing with it road closures and traffic diversions near major bridges and tunnels.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead, especially if traveling near the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge, or Hugh L. Carey Tunnel.
The MTA advises the following changes for motorists:
- Hugh L. Carey Tunnel: Manhattan-bound drivers will need to exit northbound onto West Street or Trinity Place.
- Henry Hudson Bridge: No access to the southbound side of the bridge for traffic coming from Mosholu Parkway.
- Robert F. Kennedy Bridge: The northbound FDR Drive and Harlem River Drive will be closed. Manhattan-bound traffic will have to use the southbound FDR Drive or exit at 125th Street.
This charity event, benefiting the National MS Society, features nearly 1,840 cyclists and has already raised over $1.2 million to help fight multiple sclerosis.
Drivers can stay updated on road closures by signing up for MTA text alerts or checking the Bridges and Tunnels homepage.
