A Catholic school teacher in Middlesex County is facing charges related to child sex abuse materials.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office says that 50-year-old Axel Palomares, of Morristown, is accused of manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse materials. Palomares is a teacher at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison.
The prosecutor’s office says that investigators received a cyber tip from the New Jersey State Police about Palomares. He was arrested on Tuesday at his home.
Palomares was charged with manufacturing of child sexual abuse material, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of child sexual abuse material and invasion of privacy. He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility.
It was not clear if the school still employs Palomares, but his name does not appear on the school’s staff directory.
