Continuing the borough's celebration of Bronx Week, Montefiore Medical Center is kicking off the weekend with its annual "Teddy Bear Hospital."
Kids brought their beloved stuffed animals to the hospital with "injuries" like splinters, fevers and other ailments.
The bears were treated as though they were real patients, with doctors asking specific questions about their current condition.
The goal was to make sure that children understand the experience of going to the hospital, and what formalities occur.
Every kid received one teddy bear wearing a Montefiore T-shirt, regardless of whether they came in with one or not.
The event was open to the community, especially children age 12 and under.
Bronx Week concludes on Sunday with a large-scale parade through the borough.
