Milford held its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown Saturday.

Parade committee members say the vibrant celebration showcases Irish culture, heritage and community spirit.

It featured traditional Irish dancing, music and creative floats.

This year's Grand Marshall was Maureen Murphy Moore, who is also a member of the Irish Heritage Society of Milford.

Attendees say they look forward to the parade each year because it brings everyone together.

"The families here and the individuals who come they just want to have a time to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day and frankly also the beginning of spring. God knows we've been inside a lot with the cold so as it starts to thaw, to get to celebrate that, and to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with people who are neighbors, friends and just people who are gathering in Milford is just a great celebration," said Rev. Adam Eckhart of First United Church of Christ Milford.
