A Midland Park teen reunited with two police officers this week after they helped save his life during a medical emergency in 2025.

Police say Officers Mark Berninger and Matthew Shea were dispatched on Nov. 29, 2025, for a 15‑year‑old boy who was unconscious and not breathing. They immediately began life‑saving measures, including CPR, until Valley Hospital medics and the Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived.

The teen, Aidan, was taken to Valley Hospital and later transferred to a New York City hospital for additional treatment. After spending several weeks there, he made a full recovery.

Aidan stopped by the police department to thank the officers, who said they were grateful to see his recovery and wished him well.
