A grand jury has formally charged a Middlesex County doctor with sexually assaulting his patients.

Police say 57-year-old Gurvindra Johal assaulted patients at offices in Perth Amboy, Freehold and Newark.

He is also accused of tampering with records in an effort to cover up the offenses.
