Are you off from work today? Are your kids off or did they have to go back to school? 

News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo is talking with parents in Metuchen today who, in many cases, are getting a day to themselves as the kids are back in the classroom.

Depending on which parent you talk with, this is a great day to have a day off!

The observed New Year’s Day has many kids and teachers back in school on this Monday.

But some parents he spoke with outside The Edgar School in Metuchen have the day off.

Something some of them say they'll be taking full advantage of today. "I'm OK with her going back to school today. I have a day off so…I’ll be cleaning,” says Jennifer Valdez, of Metuchen.

Tony talked to some other parents who plan on doing a whole lot of nothing today. You certainly can't blame parents who are happy to have some time to themselves today.
