Funeral services are underway for Tyler Webb, a volunteer firefighter who was murdered in Hunterdon County.
Services were held at Central Regional High School in Bayville, Webb’s hometown.

Ahead of the funeral, friends and family gathered for a “ride out,” complete with motorbikes, classic cars and trucks. The procession drove by Webb’s home in Forked River, where the neighborhood was decked in hearts and signs, before making its way to Central Regional High School.

Webb was a volunteer firefighter with Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company.

Antonio Dasti, Webb’s childhood friend, came all the way from Kentucky to pay his respects. He told News 12 that the day felt “heavy.”

“Coming back and being with everybody is kind of hitting a whole lot heavier now. I know everybody is kind of heavy-hearted, but we're all trying to keep it as light-hearted and joke and remember the good times,” Dasti said.

“He was a great kid. He was one of those kids that you can trust…this is amazing. You want to cry but you want to smile at the same time,” said Jim Dickhaus, Webb’s former shop teacher.

Law enforcement officials say Webb and his girlfriend, Lauren Semanchik, were killed on Aug. 2 by New Jersey State Trooper Ricardo Santos, Semanchik’s former boyfriend. Santos then died by suicide.

A celebration of life in honor of Webb will be held on Tuesday at the Bayville Fire Department from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
