5ds agoA new four-legged friend made his way to the News 12 studio!
The Mets are the first team in Major League baseball to welcome a future service dog, and his name is Seaver!
He's named after the Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver - who played 12 seasons for the Mets.
The team raised $100,000 for the nonprofit America's Vet Dogs, which pairs the pups to veterans and first responders with disabilities.
