Atlantic City's new mayor says the city should get a piece of the action in sports betting. 

In Atlantic City, taxes collected on sports bets go to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Mayor Marty Small says other towns and counties that host sports books do get a portion of tax revenue, and Atlantic City deserves the same.

He says, "How can someone come from North Jersey and stay in Atlantic City from Wednesday to Monday…they gamble, they stay every night, and we don't get a penny of the action? How is that fair? And we're asking for our fair share and more because the city of Atlantic City has delivered so much for the state of New Jersey."

Mayor Small took office in October after Mayor Frank Gilliam resigned.

Gilliam pleaded guilty to corruption charges.
