A woman and a child were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center after a vehicle crashed into a parked car early Sunday morning in Manchester Township, police said.

Officers responded to the area of Eighth Avenue and Cumberland Boulevard at about 1:30 a.m. June 21 for a reported collision involving a parked vehicle. Investigators said a 2018 Honda Fit traveling westbound on Eighth Avenue struck the rear of a parked 2009 Hyundai Azera.

Police identified the Honda's driver as Ricardo Cleophat, 33, of Manchester. Authorities said Cleophat was wearing a seat belt and reported no injuries. Also in the vehicle were Vanessa Movil, 25, of Manchester, and two children, ages 2 and 6.

Movil reported pain to her head, chest and leg. Police said a preliminary investigation determined she was not wearing a seat belt. The 6-year-old child suffered a leg injury. Both were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment. The 2-year-old child was not injured, according to police.

The parked Hyundai was occupied by Yehuda Kellerman, 27, of Passaic, who was not injured.

Police said the crash remains under investigation, but failure to maintain lane appears to be the primary contributing factor.
