A man was seriously injured by a machete attack at Bridgeport Seaside Park on Sunday.

Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found a man with serious facial injuries claiming to have been slashed by a machete.

They say it happened at 8 p.m. along Waldemere Avenue at the Diamond 10 Baseball Field.

The suspect in question was seen fleeing down the 100 block of Iranistan Avenue. According to police he has deadlock-style hair and was seen in a white tank top with black pants and a baseball cap.
