A man is recovering after a brazen shooting in Belmont that was captured on a livestream.

Police say the victim, identified by family as Steiner Abrue, was sitting on a stoop with friends and family when a gunman suddenly ran up and opened fire. Video of the incident shows the suspect firing multiple shots before the group scattered in panic.

According to the victim’s mother, Abrue had just returned home from work in Queens, where he works as a taxi driver, and stopped to greet friends moments before the violence unfolded.

She says her son was shot four times, twice in the leg, once in the arm and once in the rib. He is now hospitalized and preparing for surgery.

His mother says she does not believe he was the intended target, describing him as a hardworking and reliable man with no criminal history.

Abrue’s mother is demanding answers and urging detectives to determine what led up to the shooting and who is responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline.
