Man injured, arrested after jumping into World Trade Center Memorial Pool

The man, identified as Jeffrey Hernandez, was transported to Bellevue Hospital with a left leg injury and subsequently placed into custody.

A 33-year-old man is facing charges after jumping into the World Trade Center Memorial Pool on Monday.

Video shows the man jumping 30 feet into the north tower pool. He then laid down in the shallow water on the edge of a smaller basin inside the pool that drops down another 20 feet.

The man, identified as Jeffrey Hernandez, was transported to Bellevue Hospital with a left leg injury and subsequently placed into custody.

Authorities have not provided a motive for the man's actions.
