A 76-year-old man died after being struck by a private tour bus at a Ridgefield intersection.

Ridgefield police said officers responded to the intersection of Broad and Maple avenues around 9:30 p.m. on June 30 for a report of a motor vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they found that the victim, who was not identified, had sustained serious injuries and was in critical condition. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, the driver was the only person on the bus at the time of the crash. Police said he remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives.

The investigation is ongoing by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Ridgefield police.
