A man was arrested for stabbing another man in Huntington.
The attack happened during a road rage incident Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police say.
Jayson Heitner, 26, of Huntington, was taken into custody around 3:30 p.m. on West Neck Road and Old Hickory Lane.
Police tell News 12 Heitner stabbed the 60-year-old victim with a box cutter and bit his fingers.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Heitner appeared in court Tuesday, and his attorney Chase Brown said there was more to the incident than what was described.
"There is a very, very clear case of self defense here," Brown said.
Brown said that the prosecutor neglected to say that the complainant had a knife.
A judge set bail for Heitner at $75,000 cash.
His next court date is Nov. 24.
