Police say a man was attacked, kidnapped and then dumped on the New Jersey Turnpike shortly after nightfall Thursday in Carlstadt.
The victim is in stable condition and recovering at Hackensack Medical Center after being attacked and kidnapped during a break just outside General Trading. The trucking company is located in the 400 block of 16th Street in Carlstadt.
The victim, whose name is not being released, has worked at General Trading for years as a night porter and driver. According to his co-workers, two men drove up to him during his break and then forced him into a car at gunpoint. The men smashed his teeth, beat him up and then dropped him off on the Turnpike.
According to police, the suspects got away with the victim?s paycheck, which was about $2000. They are now looking for a dark colored Chevy Impala and the two men who were driving it.
