Prosecutors: Man arrested for impersonating police officer, robbing driver in Freehold

During the fake stop, prosecutors say Anthony Burke stole the driver's phone.

Monmouth County prosecutors say a Freehold man pretended to be a police officer to rob someone.
Prosecutors say Anthony Burke, 46, pulled someone over on Sunday, Sept. 17. During the fake stop, prosecutors say Burke stole the driver's phone.
During a traffic stop Wednesday in Freehold Borough, prosecutors say Burke was arrested. He was charged with impersonating an officer and second-degree robbery. He was also charged with four counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
