A man is accused of shooting at two Jersey City police vehicles on Friday afternoon.
Jersey City officials say that it happened just before 1:30 p.m. on John F. Kennedy Boulevard. They say that the person fired multiple rounds and struck both police cars.
Officials say that the four officers “engaged the gunman,” who was then taken to the hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
No police officers or civilians were hurt in the exchange.
Several roadways are closed in the area while the investigation continues.
Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to reach out to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
