Man accused of sexual assault of patient at facility where 11 children died in virus outbreak

Police in Wanaque are looking into an alleged sexual assault at the nursing home where 11 children died last year of an adenovirus outbreak.
The alleged assault happened back on Aug. 1.
According to police, Jesus Herrera, 73, of Wayne, is accused of putting his mouth on the breast of a non-verbal, non-mobile patient at the North Jersey Pediatric and Adult Nursing and Wellness Center.
The center was formerly the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, where the 11 children died.
Herrera was released from custody Aug. 2 and is awaiting trial.
