Issues relating to discolored water in Bloomfield and Newark are expected to be resolved over the course of Friday.

Some residents were seeing brown or discolored water coming from their faucets due to system maintenance at a local treatment plant, according to Bloomfield's water supplier.

A town administrator is recommending letting water run for up to ten minutes to allow the faucet to "settle" before using.

If the water remains discolored, it can still be used for showering, but should be avoided for drinking, cooking or washing clothes.
