Local businesses prep classic treats ahead of Valentine's Day

Americans are expected to spend approximately $30 billion this Valentine's Day, and many local businesses are preparing to earn their share of that record amount.
La Bon Bake Shoppes in Edison is arranging sweet treats like decorated cakes, cookies and chocolate covered strawberries.
"It's always a big holiday for us," said owner Brian Pansari.
"It's going to be interesting this year because it's on Saturday and so we're kind of interested to see how that's gonna work because normally we get a big rush after work. People come in at 5, 6 o'clock and are just looking to get whatever they can."
Customers are asked to place orders by Thursday Feb. 12 in order to make it for the big day.
The bake shop will also be open Saturday for those looking for a last-minute treat.
