A LinkNYC 5G kiosk installed in Morris Heights is the first of its kind to be installed in the Bronx.
The kiosk offers free domestic calls and Wi-Fi, along with other digital services. Unlike other kiosks that provide a 750-foot range, this kiosk offers Wi-Fi access to those over 1,000 feet away.
The city says it decided to roll out the new technology in Morris Heights to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities.
The city’s Office of Technology and Innovation plans to roll out 2,000 more of the new kiosks across all five boroughs.
