Police say they're set to continue their search Wednesday at the remote stretch of beach on Long Island not far from where several sets of human remains have been found.
Today, searches were performed near the marshy area of Oak Beach, near where Shannan Gilbert, of Jersey City, was last seen back in May 2010.
When asked if they found anything significant Tuesday, authorities would only say they did not find human remains.
Search crews began seeking Gilbert's remains last December. That search led to the discovery of 10 sets of human remains, and Long Island police believe it's the work of a serial killer. However, investigators say there's no evidence that Gilbert was murdered by that killer.
News 12 spoke with Shannan Gilbert's mother exclusively about the recent search of the area.
