LI Ducks lift ballpark capacity limit, will hold 7 firework shows in celebration
The Long Island Ducks have lifted the capacity restrictions at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.
This comes after the CDC announced that 70% of New Yorkers have been vaccinated, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo lifted COVID-19 restrictions across commercial and social settings.
The Ducks say while the capacity is increased, many COVID-19 safety procedures will remain, such as digital ticketing and enhanced cleanings.
They also announced the first of seven firework shows will be held at the stadium Saturday following the team's game.
“Long Islanders have done a tremendous job fighting this pandemic,” says Ducks owner Frank Boulton. “With this latest progress report now public, it is time to continue to work toward getting back to life as we knew it, which includes spending a beautiful summer night with the Long Island Ducks. We look forward to seeing everyone at the ballpark.”
