New Jersey residents are urged to watch out for scammers after Lending Tree ranked the Garden State No. 10 for states with the most money lost to scammers.
Lending Tree says New Jersey residents lost $170 million to scams in just the first nine months of 2023 and filed over 85,000 fraud reports.
The average amount lost per incident came in at just under $2,000.
Fraudsters primarily targeted victims through email, phone calls and text messages.
