Vaccine rollout began for the Ramapough Lenape
Nation in Mahwah Friday.
Chief Dwaine Perry says the vaccine is long
overdue and he’s overjoyed that the county stepped in to make it happen.
“Going forward we’re looking for more robust participation as word gets out and
people understand that there’s a way you can actually get vaccinated,” Perry
says.
Friday’s vaccine distribution was the first of three clinics.
The tribal nation is made up of about 5,000
people.
