Don Imus may have settled with former employer CBS, and he may even hit the airwaves again, but his legal troubles are far from over.
A player on the Rutgers women?s basketball team filed a lawsuit against Imus Tuesday. Kia Vaughn filed the suit for slander and character defamation against Imus, his former co-host Bernard McGuirk, CBS radio and MSNBC.
?It basically attributes criminal actions to her, it also attributes a certain lack of character in terms of her being unchaste, in terms of her being a loose woman so to speak,? Vaughn?s attorney, Richard Ancowitz, said.
Ancowitz said concerns about how future employers and a future boyfriend might perceive her are what motivated Vaughn to file the suit. Ancowitz adds more lawsuits from other players may soon follow.
