Lawmakers raised concerns Tuesday about the latest resignation at the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system.
Chancellor John Maduko stepped down Friday amid an investigation into his personal conduct. Despite Maduko's abrupt resignation, State Comptroller Sean Scanlon says the investigation should continue and the findings should be made public.
Ten months ago, the system's previous chancellor Terrence Cheng left over a spending scandal. Cheng is expected to collect $442,000 this year as a strategic consultant.
"The contract that was given to the previous chancellor was an absolute disgrace. Freedom of Information is now showing that. It was a no-show, half-a-million dollar contract. And I hope we don't see the same deal for this chancellor," says Connecticut House GOP leader Vin Candelora (R-North Branford).
