Incumbent Sen. Frank Lautenberg defeated his Democratic opponent in the New Jersey primary Tuesday.
Rep. Rob Andrews conceded the race Tuesday night and vowed that the Democrats would be ?united? as Lautenberg seeks re-election.
Gov. John Corzine introduced Lautenberg before his victory speech and said the party would strive for an ?overwhelming? victory in November.
Lautenberg will face former Republican Rep. Dick Zimmer in the general election. Zimmer won the Republican primary over state Sen. Joseph Pennachio and Murray Sabrin, a libertarian college professor.
Andrews? wife Camille won her primary race to replace him in the U.S. House.
Low turnout expected for Tuesday's primary
