Seven teenagers are accused of an egg-throwing prank that Lakewood police are labeling a bias crime.
The incident happened in the area of Private Way and Fourth Street in Lakewood early Sunday. Authorities say the teens threw eggs and shouted anti-Semitic slurs and obscenities at three Orthodox Jewish men. Police say the seven teens, including three minors, were caught with the eggs in a red pick-up truck in Howell.
Christopher Klauder, Christopher Balasone and Andre Ferreira, of Howell High School, and Edward Fischer, of Freehold Township High School, have been charged with bias intimidation and simple assault. All four men are 18 years old. The three minors were charged with juvenile delinquency.
