After nearly two decades, Krispy Kreme is returning to Ocean County.
JLL announced on Monday that a new lease was completed with Krispy Kreme at the Town & Country Shopping Center in Lakewood. The real estate company said it will take over what was previously a McDonald's complete with a drive-through window at 1900 Route 70.
JLL said the 4,000-square-foot factory-store will feature a glaze waterfall and conveyor belt, where doughnuts are made fresh right in front of customers.
The stores, known for their “hot doughnuts” sign that lights up when doughnuts are on the conveyor, are also located in Paramus, Springfield, East Rutherford and Jersey City.
The doughnut retailer is set to open the Lakewood location this fall.
