After the Elizabeth School District spent nearly half-a-million dollars to hire former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Gary Stein to investigate, it appears the district is in the clear.
Last year, some current and former employees from the Elizabeth Public Schools said they felt constant pressure to donate money to school board candidates and politicians.
Stein says many of the charges against the district stem from a dispute with politicians, including Ray Lesniak. Lesniak says that Stein isn't the independent investigator he claims to be.
There are several controversial items that Stein's report does not mention, including the indictment of school board president Marie Munn for allegedly lying about her income so her children could receive free lunches.
