Witness testimony continued on Friday in the trial of a man accused of a quadruple killing in Monmouth County.

Paul Caneiro, 59, is accused of killing his brother, Keith Caneiro, and Keith's wife, Jennifer and their two children, Jesse and Sophia. The killings happened inside the family’s Colts Neck home more than seven years ago.

Things were moving along in the trial on Friday until an issue was brought up to the judge regarding a juror.

The jury was shown crime scene photos earlier in the week concerning the children who were killed in the case. At the time, jurors were seen crying in the gallery during testimony.

“I need to make sure you still have an open mind in this case. That you're going to evaluate all of it and not just the fact that you're looking at those photos…The pictures showed what they showed,” the judge said.

The judge allowed the juror to remain on the case after the juror stated that he would be able to remain open-minded about all of the testimony.

Prosecutors questioned a neighbor who lived directly behind Paul Caneiro. That witness testified that Paul Caneiro was a calm individual who never raised his voice.

The trial will resume on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
