10ds agoThe New York Jets and Giants announced Monday that games will be played without fans at MetLife Stadium “until further notice.”
The decision comes as Gov. Phil Murphy announced that his executive order limiting outdoor public gatherings in New Jersey will apply to events at the stadium.
“We support Gov. Murphy’s decision in the interest of public health and safety and, until circumstances change, both the Giants and Jets will play our games without the benefits of fans in attendance. Although we would have preferred to have fans at MetLife Stadium for our games, we will continue to work with Gov. Murphy’s office and will provide updates if necessary,” both teams said in a joint statement.

The teams stated that they took the health and safety of the fans, players and staff into consideration when making the decision.
“We urge our fans to continue to take the necessary precautions recommended by health officials to stay safe and we look forward to seeing you at MetLife Stadium as soon as possible,” the teams said.
Jets and Giants training camps will also not be open to the public.
