Throughout the summer, News 12 has detailed the major restoration work that went on with the Battleship New Jersey. A lot of people were involved – including a teenager from Toms River.
Maurice Dattoli worked on the ship this summer as part of an Eagle Scout project. His job was to completely restore one of the aft steering compartments. He and his team got that part of the ship ready for future tours.
Dattoli spent about 170 hours in all, planning, fundraising and working aboard the ship.
The museum is in great shape right now along the Camden waterfront, thanks in part to this teenager's Jersey Proud work.
