New Jersey can boast about many things, and soon enough, the state may be able to boast about the best chess player in the world.
News 12 previously reported about chess prodigy Abhimanyu Mishra, who became a grandmaster at the age of 12.
Now at 16, Mishra just took down the No. 1 chess player in the world. The match was in Great Britain.
Mishra is the youngest grand master to ever beat the world champion.
Mishra was born in Long Branch and raised in Englishtown.
