Jersey Proud: Sussex Tech takes 1st place in Picatinny Arsenal pumpkin chuckin’ contest

Eight high school teams had to design a trebuchet launcher to see whose pumpkins could be launched the furthest.

A Sussex County high school brought home some serious bragging rights this month.
Picatinny Arsenal held its annual pumpkin chuckin’ contest. Eight high school teams had to design a trebuchet launcher to see whose pumpkins could be launched the furthest.
Sussex County Technical School took first place with their pumpkin flying a whopping 930 feet.
The team was made up of 10 engineering students and 10 students in the welding program – making New Jersey proud.
