Two of the survivors of the Jan. 3, 2000 Seton Hall University dorm fire spoke to students at Howell High School.
Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llanos speak to the students every year. Their main message is to always have situational awareness.

Howell High School calls this the “After the Fire” program.
Many of the students in the audience will be headed to college this year. Simons and Llanos say they simply want the students to be safe.
