Smokey Bear, the famous ad campaign that urges people to prevent forest fires, will be in New Jersey over the next three weeks.
Some of the original paintings of the United States Forest Service ad campaign mascot that launched nearly 80 years ago will be on display at three locations in the Garden State.
The paintings from Rudy Wendelin are at the Monmouth Battlefield through Sunday.
Then next week, they will be at the train terminal in Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
Then finally on the week of Aug. 7, they will be at the State House in Trenton.
