Every time Wawa opens a new store, they do something Jersey Proud — they have a hoagie-building contest.
A new location just opened its doors on Route 1 in Edison.
So Wawa invites police officers to take on the firefighters to see who can build the best sandwiches.
It was a friendly competition that the police won.
But the real winner was Make-A-Wish New Jersey, with both groups donating $1,000.
The culinary creations were given to a Middlesex County homeless shelter.
