People who live along Route 23 in northern New Jersey for the past 25 years may have noticed artwork on top of utility poles.
For nearly three decades it has been a mystery as to who was climbing on the poles and installing the art.
But it is a mystery no longer. The man’s name was George Bauckham. He died over the summer. His obituary state “We will always think of you, Uncle Butch, as we drive down Route 23 and look up at those mementos you left us on the telephone poles.”
