A firefighter who was injured on the job was discharged to a Jersey Proud reception on Friday.
Capt. Dayon Cobbs of the Newark Fire Department wheeled out of St. Barnabas in Livingston to the sound of bagpipes playing and an applause in the background.
Cobbs was injured Aug. 13 during a three-alarm fire in Newark.
He suffered burns to his hands, neck and ears.
Cobbs, however, was treated for his injuries at the right place - St. Barnabas is said to have the best burn center in the state.
He rode off in a firetruck as his fellow firefighters welcomed him back.
Cobb will continue the remainder of his recovery at home.
