Jersey City has passed an ordinance that will allow restaurants and bars to have live music until 2 a.m. on weekends and 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
For those in Jersey City interested in hearing live music, Hoboken and the five boroughs were the only option. Now that Jersey City has gone ahead with the ordinance, businesses are hoping for a boost.
Some have expressed concern over rising noise levels and increased crime. Noise rules are still in effect throughout the city, so the new ordinance could increase the amount of complaints issued.
