Jersey City firefighters were in the right place at the right time when they saved a seagull stuck on a frozen reservoir.
City officials say that the Jersey City Fire Department's Rescue 1 squad 4 B group was conducting ice rescue training at the Jefferson Avenue reservoir on Monday. That's when they saw the bird stuck to the ice and unable to fly away.
The firefighters were able to go out to the bird and get it unstuck. They say it then successfully flew away.
