Utility crews for Jersey Central Power and Light worked through the night to bring back power to customers who were left in the dark.

Overnight storms forced power outages for thousands of residents in Monmouth County. Towns like Little River, Rumson and Fair Haven were all hit hard.

A portion of Seven Bridges Road in Little Silver was closed throughout much of the morning as crews worked to repair service.

Homeowners also called on tree companies to cut and haul away branches and parts that had fallen off during the storms.

"It was unbelievable," says Simon Nyens, of Little Silver. "The wind was just howling.

No injuries were reported.
