A Jackson woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison for shooting a 79-year-old man, according to prosecutors.

Thirty-four-year-old Marian Rojas previously pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

The shooting happened last October on Jackson Pines Road.

Police said the victim was struck in the shoulder and suffered minor injuries.

Rojas was sentenced as part of a plea agreement.
