The family of a Jackson soldier killed in Iraq is in mourning following the young man?s death.
Luigi Marciante?s family was informed Thursday by an Army chaplain of his death. Marciante, 25, became the 85th New Jersey casualty of the Iraq war after being killed by a roadside bomb.
The fallen soldier became a father in August following the birth of his son Lorenzo. Family members say the recent birth is helping them deal with the loss of Marciante.
?I gotta raise that boy the best I can,? says the soldier?s father Luigi Marciante, Sr. ?That's my grandson. That's my son's son.?
