It's good news for some owners and customers too, but one thing learned from week two of outdoor dining is it’s extremely weather dependent.
Mornings and lunch times, have for the most part, been dry, and last weekend, at least by the beach, was by all accounts spectacular.
In Asbury Park, Father's Day Sunday was the first time the town shut down some of the streets to accommodate for restaurants and tables. Crowds came to Cookman Avenue to simply have the outdoor dining experience, like what was seen last week in Manasquan.
The servers at Toast this morning prepared for another perfect way to start a Tuesday -- out on the sidewalk.
“It went really well,” says server Caitlyn Kenneally. “I think people are excited to be outside and be able to eat and I'll just do takeout and for us servers. We are just really excited to get back to running around and working.”
Indoor dining resumes net Thursday at 25% capacity. A server at Toast says revenue still isn't where it should be yet simply from takeout and outdoor seating, but it's on the way back.
