A vintage shop in Middlesex County has been collecting smiles by catering to customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have things you’ve never seen,” says Stage Coach Metuchen owner Lisa Morio.
Morio says that her shop has a collection of old and new items.
“It’s like a mom and pop store. She has everything you need,” says customer Belinda Savarese.
Morio and her husband are also in the real estate business. She says that when the pandemic forced them to close down Stage Coach they found ways to stay connected with their customers.

“When we closed, we actually put our personal phone number on the door,” Morio says. “If you need anything, let us know.”
The staff even took some extra steps to keep the business going.
“If someone was afraid to come out of their home, [we] went down the shore, we went to Long Island, [we] dropped things off for people,” Morio says. “And we’re actually going to keep doing that now because it made people so happy.”
Morio says that they will do anything to help their customers during this time.
“We just like to have people come in who maybe only have a couple of bucks on them, you know, ‘That’s what you’ve got? That’s fine,’” Morio says.
Stage Coach Metuchen is open every day except for Tuesdays.
